What’s on in Brisbane: 29 Oct -4 Nov

If you’ve felt a shiver down your spine this week its probably just the Halloween spirit seeping into your soul! Personally I LOVE Halloween so I’ve dug up two options for a frightfully good time this weekend – one for adults and one that’s family friendly.

If spooky shenanigans aren’t your bag there’s also a latin fiesta, an open air cinema and the good old Melbourne Cup to keep you busy.

So read on to see what’s on in Brisbane this week…

Ben & Jerry’s Open Air Cinema

Ben & Jerrys Open Air Cinema Brisbane

WHEN: Nightly from 5.00pm until 9 November
WHERE: Rainforest Green, Southbank (near the Wheel of Brisbane)
COST: General Admission $17, but there are fancy pants options as well – think an outdoor version of gold class

Why not take advantage of Brisbane’s early summer weather and enjoy a movie under the stars at the Ben & Jerry’s Open Air Cinema? The thing I love most about this is the sheer variety of movies you can see – from big budget releases like “Gone Girl” and to Gen X cult classics like “The Breakfast Club” and “Top Gun”!!

The season ends on 9 November and some shows are nearly sold out, so get in quick and book your tickets here.

The Fox Melbourne Cup

The Fox Melbourne Cup Extravaganza
Look, there are SO MANY great Melbourne Cup events happening in Brisbane this year we are absolutely spoiled for choice. But what I love about The Fox’s Melbourne Cup packages is that they represent exceptionally good value AND there is a price point for everyone!

LONG BAR PACKAGE: 2 course + bubbles for $35 – seriously this may actually be the best deal in town!
FISH LANE PACKAGE: 4 courses + bubbles for $79 in the new Fish Lane Bistro – a great mid price option
DANDY’S ROOFTOP PACKAGE: Spring BBQ plate + dessert canapes for $129 package which includes a 3 hour beverage package.

Packages like these will be selling out quickly so I would book NOW (why are you still reading – get on it!)

Haunted Hotel – Limes Annual Halloween Party

Limes Haunted Hotel Halloween Party

Get ready for a hauntingly good time Brisbane! This year Limes Rooftop Bar will hosts its 6th annual “Haunted Hotel” Halloween party, complete with cocktail cauldrons and shots that would bring a zombie back from the dead.

Manly Halloween Street Party

manly village Halloween street party

Celebrate Halloween with the family on the beautiful Manly foreshore at this three day street party. The main action will take place on the Saturday, with rides for the kids, food stalls and a Halloween parade through the streets at dusk. Stick around for the Best Costume competition and the fireworks at the end of the night!

Fiesta Latina

Fiesta Latina G20 Southbank

TIME: 3.30pm – 11.00pm

All the colour and energy of Latin America will be in full force on Saturday afternoon as the Fiesta Latina kicks off at Southbank. Another initiative of the G20 cultural events program, the fiesta will feature markets, central and south American food, and a dance party that will go long into the the night!

If you know of any other events coming up I’d love to hear about it! Just send me the details at hello@ourtownbrisbane.com and so I can include it in my weekly “What’s On” posts.
