OK, so here we are on day two of the Our Town Brisbane summer fashion trends 2014 series and things are just getting HOTTER!
We started off with iconic fashion blogger Nikki Parkinson from Styling You. If you missed it you can check it out here.
And now it is my pleasure introduce you to Josh Kilroy – Brisbane stylist extraordinaire and buyer for high fashion James Street boutique, Jules & Roc.
Like many in the industry Josh started out in a part time retail fashion position, but it wasn’t long before he knew he’d found his passion. Seven years ago he decided to focus his attention and ambitions on the world of styling and hasn’t looked back!
Since then he’s styled editorial, commercial, runway, look-books and personal clients. Josh sees every styling project as a new challenge and an opportunity to look at what fashion means to people from different perspectives
Josh has been very busy recently, styling high profile fashion shoots for the launch of the My City Life Magazine.
One of these shoots was cover girl Pip Russel at new Brisbane riverside venue Bar Pacino. And if you remember her from popular kids TV shows Toasted TV or Totally Wild you HAVE to see her in this shoot because it will blow your mind! Not a rangers uniform in sight 😉
But now its time to hear from the man himself! So tell us Josh – what does summer 2014 hold for you fashion-wise?
What colours / patterns / textures do you love this summer?
This Summer I’ll be wearing my gingham print silk top from Scanlan and Theodore. Gingham was a huge trend on the SS14 collections and Scanlan have done a gorgeous black and white. It’s the new stripe!
Who are your favourite Brisbane designers?
I love being from Brisbane, we have so much talent in our bustling city. Some of my favourite Queensland designers are Easton Pearson & Aje.
What will be your “go to” outfit or piece this summer? Something you think you’ll wear to death by the end of the season!
Every summer I invest in a new white cotton button up over-sized shirt & distressed denim. This summer is no exception, I found the best top ever! The Easton Pearson Hathor Shirt. Get involved, thank me later.
