Yes folks, it’s that one day of the year when we are duty bound to laugh at their dad-jokes and allow them to criticize our driving.

If your Dad is a bit of a foodie and likes the finer things in life then you can’t go past Fathers Day lunch at Ecco Bistro This Brisbane icon has come up with the kind of gorgeous three-course menu that has secured its reputation, at the VERY reasonable price of $65 per person!

2. Traditional Dad – Kookaburra River Queen
If your Dad is a more traditional kind of dude then he’s sure to love a stately cruise on that grand old lady of the Brisbane River, The Kookaburra Queen. Combining sweeping views of the city with a luscious seafood buffet lunch this will be a Father’s treat the whole family will enjoy. Prices are $65 for adults and $32.50 for kids OR you can book a family pass for $165 (2 adults + 2 kids)

Anyone who has attempted dining with children knows one thing for sure: the happier and more entertained the children are, the more chance the adults have of enjoying their meals! So if your family has a few kids in tow then The Pineapple Hotel is a fantastic choice. As well as a secure outdoor playground there will also be free face-painting for the kids!

Fathers Day at Fiction

5. Laid Back Dad – Fiction Bar & Restaurant
Is you’re Dad is a laid back kind of bloke? Then you should definitely consider taking advantage of Brisbane’s beautiful spring weather and heading out to Fiction Bar at Raby Bay in Cleveland. As well as their standard brunch menu (which looks divine) they are also having a Big Aussie BBQ from 11.30am which features gourmet meats, seafood and salads. It’s a bit of a drive to get there, but for $35 per person I think it’s worth making it a Father’s Day day-trip!

  1. Great selection there, Rachel. I’ve never heard of Mighty Mighty Cue & Brew. I might have to give that one a go. Dad likes to consider himself a bit of a cool cat. This actually reminded me of when we were at my school formal and my date said to him ‘ How are you going, groover?’ and Dad replied with ‘How are you going Grover?’ I wanted to die! πŸ˜‰ x
